Marvel"s Avengers Replacement Gives The MCU The Perfect Way To Fix Avengers 5
Summary
- Avengers 5 could become a Young Avengers movie, showcasing new characters in the face of a multiverse-ending threat.
- The involvement of Kang the Conqueror is uncertain after the actor's departure, but Young Avengers should take center stage regardless.
- The lack of official word on Kang's future suggests potential changes to the narrative, making Avengers: The Kang Dynasty an exciting new direction for the MCU.
Now that the actor playing the titular character has been dropped,
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is in disarray, but the MCU is sitting on a perfect fix with a certain group of replacements. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be the first MCU movie to feature the eponymous team since Avengers: Endgame, which is the longest that the franchise has left between any Avengers movie. With that being the case, there has been no chance for the presumed stars of the next big team-up movie to interact beyond guest appearances and cameos while time is ticking on the MCU timeline.
While the big bad of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has been presumed to be Kang the Conqueror himself for several years, the MCU has reached a pivotal moment now that Jonathan Majors has departed. The prevailing theory posits that Kang will simply be recast - something that the established nature of the multiverse and variants can easily facilitate. With a less-than-stellar reception to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania, however, rumors suggest that Marvel may wish to pivot from Kang entirely. Whatever the case, there needs to be a particular set of stars at the center of the next Avengers movie.

Related 10 MCU Phase 5 Questions That Need To Be Answered In Avengers 5 (Or Before) Avengers: Kang Dynasty is still a couple of years away from release, but it is already expected to answer some of MCU's Multiverse Saga's mysteries. Avengers 5 Should Become A Young Avengers Movie
![]()
MCU Phases 4 and 5 have introduced an unprecedented amount of new MCU characters in just a few years. While not all of these are certain to be a part of the Multiverse Saga's climax, the fact that many key players within the Young Avengers of Marvel Comics have made their debut heavily suggests that a Young Avengers movie is en route.
The fifth Avengers movie should be that movie, having the Young Avengers team up for the first time in retaliation against the new multiverse-ending threat.
With Kang being such a huge deal, the multiverse will no doubt benefit from the help of the MCU's veterans. Meanwhile, the movie could also finally give criminally underutilized characters like Captain Marvel and Hulk their chance to shine. While the removal of Kang entirely may more easily facilitate a less experienced team of Young Avengers, however, his involvement should not preclude the team from playing a central role. The stakes, after all, could not be higher for a relatively inexperienced team to go up against - but it should be the new characters that take center stage, regardless.
Kang's MCU Future Remains Unclear After Marvel Dropped Jonathan Majors
![]()
There has still been no official word on how the MCU intends to proceed now that Jonathan Majors has been let go from the role, meaning it can only be presumed that Kang will still feature heavily. At the same time, the lack of official word could signify doom for Kang's future, especially as the MCU is in a position that could reasonably change the narrative ahead of
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Whether or not Kang plays a part, putting the Young Avengers front and center will ensure that the movie is an exciting new direction for the MCU regardless.
