Daredevil: Born Again Brings New Marvel Villain To The MCU In Blood-Red Art

Summary
  • Marvel Studios' Daredevil: Born Again series may feature the villain Muse, known for his disturbing and gruesome murals.
  • Muse could play an important role in Daredevil's battle against Mayor Wilson Fisk and his anti-vigilante laws.
  • There are rumors that actor Hunter Doohan could portray Muse in the MCU, but this hasn't been confirmed by Marvel Studios.
A terrifying new villain for Marvel Studios' Daredevil: Born Again series has been depicted alongside Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock in new MCU fan art. Cox debuted as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer and superhuman vigilante, in Marvel Television's Daredevil series on Netflix in 2015, but reprised the role in the MCU proper in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home. Subsequent appearances in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Echo have laid the foundations for Matt Murdock's Daredevil to return in his own Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, and despite recent speculation, the exact details of Born Again's storyline haven't yet been revealed.
Daredevil: Born Again will also mark the return of Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, who is aspiring to be Mayor of New York City after Marvel Spotlight's Echo. However, it's possible the upcoming series could also feature other Daredevil villains, and one sinister addition has been imagined in Daredevil: Born Again fan art shared by bensolo_cup.
The poster depicts Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and in his Daredevil costume, though Marvel Comics' Muse is also included. Muse has recently been rumored to be appearing in Daredevil: Born Again, which could make the series the MCU's most brutal project yet.
Related Marvel Just Hinted Daredevil: Born Again Won't Be The Bloodbath We All Deserve With its recent release, Marvel may have just hinted that Daredevil: Born Again's rating does not mean that it will be overly violent or bloody. What Role Could Muse Play In Daredevil: Born Again? Close Muse debuted in Marvel Comics in 2016's Daredevil (Vol. 5) #11, and not much is known about the villain, other than that he was a sociopathic serial killer with a penchant for using his victims' bodily organs and fluids to create grand murals across New York City. Muse is one of Marvel Comics' most disturbing and nightmare-inducing villains, so would be a fantastic addition to Daredevil: Born Again, particularly if the series is gifted a TV-MA rating. Muse plays an important role in Daredevil's career during Kingpin's reign as Mayor of New York, which could prove pivotal to Born Again.
When Kingpin became Mayor of New York and outlawed vigilantism in the city, Muse became inspired by Daredevil's continued battle against injustice, so broke free from prison to continue his own crusade. He painted murals in support of vigilantes, allowing Kingpin to solidify his anti-vigilante laws and his influence over New York City. With D'Onofrio's Fisk hinting at becoming the Mayor of New York, Muse's debut in Daredevil: Born Again would allow the looming villain to solidify his position. Recent rumors suggest Wednesday's Hunter Doohan could portray the MCU's Muse (via ComicBookMovie.com), though this hasn't been confirmed by Marvel Studios.
