Daredevil: Born Again Season 2: Cast, Production Status & Everything We Know

Warning: This article contains spoilers for season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again.Daredevil: Born Again season 2 was confirmed even before the first season was released on Disney+, causing many to wonder about its many different aspects. Daredevil: Born Again"s Disney+ release in 2025 marked the proper return of the Man Without Fear to the MCU for the first time since Daredevil season 3 in 2018. Despite Charlie Cox"s brief appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, many wondered whether a solo Daredevil story would ever be possible again as an upcoming Marvel TV show.
Marvel quickly proved that this desire would be possible with the confirmation of Daredevil: Born Again"s story, which premiered in March 2025 to acclaim for how it revitalizes the world of Netflix"s Defenders Saga in the MCU. Naturally, attention is now turning to Daredevil: Born Again season 2, as well as potential appearances in upcoming Marvel movies for the titular hero of Hell"s Kitchen. Where the former is concerned, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is already on the way sooner rather than later.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Recent News New Set Photos Show A New Daredevil Suit Image via Disney+
As Daredevil: Born Again season 2 continues its production, more set photos have been shown. Following the set photo of Karen Page returning alongside Matt Murdock, recently Matt was shown sporting a brand-new Daredevil costume. New set photos (via @petergcornell) show Daredevil donning a new black suit, a major change from his traditional red suit or even the yellow and red one he wore in She-Hulk.
Comic fans will probably be excited, given that Daredevil"s black suit is closely associated with the Shadowland saga, where he wore a similar one. Despite the nod to Shadowland, it seems like Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will be adapting a lot of Devil"s Reign, which focuses on Wilson Fisk becoming mayor of New York and outlawing vigilantes, which the first season focused on. Daredevil"s black suit makes sense as he goes on the run following Fisk"s outlaw of vigilantes.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Is Confirmed By Marvel The Show's Initial Production Led To Season 2's Early Confirmation Close To adequately explore the confirmation of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, it is first worth exploring how the show"s first season was developed. In July 2022, Daredevil: Born Again was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con, with Marvel Studios" president, Kevin Feige, confirming it as an 18-episode season on Disney+. At first, this was met with great excitement, given the long-running complaint that many of both Marvel"s best and worst-ranked TV shows felt like stretched-out movies as opposed to seasons of television.
However, the delay in production caused by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023 saw Marvel realize that Daredevil: Born Again was not working. This led to a massive creative overhaul, including a new showrunner, a new directing duo, and the writing of new episodes that rendered Daredevil: Born Again as a continuation of Netflix"s show. It was then confirmed that nine of the 18 planned episodes would be Daredevil: Born Again season 1, which began releasing on Disney+ in March 2025.
As per Entertainment Weekly, the other nine episodes that were initially planned were then left over to form the basis of Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Given that so much work had already begun on the entire 18-episode arc of the show, the new showrunner and directing duo felt there was enough there to begin season 2 essentially straight away, though the former - Dario Scardapane - confirmed only eight would be used for season 2. This explains why Daredevil: Born Again season 2 has already been confirmed by Marvel and is on the way sooner than we first thought.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Production Status Production Is Already Underway Naturally, the next major question is when Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will begin production. In an increasingly rare act of swiftness for the modern age of TV, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 began shooting before the first season was even released. An interview with Collider five days before Daredevil: Born Again season 1"s premiere saw Scardapane confirm that the continuation began shooting the following Friday, February 28, 2025, even hinting at the potential for season 3:
"We start shooting an eight-episode second season on Friday, and the future is unwritten. I don"t know if the story necessarily ends at the end of the second season..."
The first batch of filming then began in New York City, meaning some elements of season 2 were already captured before Daredevil: Born Again season 1"s premiere on March 4 of that year. This same event saw the Head of Marvel Television, Brad Winderbaum, comment to Collider that Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, the new directing duo hired for the overhaul of Daredevil: Born Again, would return for season 2, stating, "they"re amazing. I would work with them forever if I could."
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Will Release In 2026 The Wait Is Not Long For Season 2 The quick turnaround in production between Daredevil: Born Again seasons 1 and 2 is increasingly rare in the world of modern TV. In recent years, most big-budget TV shows take two to three years to produce, sometimes even longer, causing more drastic wait times between each season. Thankfully, though, Daredevil: Born Again"s unique structure that saw it split into two seasons meant production could begin quickly on a second season.
Not only does this confirm that season 2 is planned for 2026 but that a potential third season could then be set for 2027...
The first season is all but guaranteed to be a success, and the quick production time means that Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is set for release in 2026. Screen Rant"s own Liam Crowley spoke to Brad Winderbaum about this before Daredevil: Born Again season 1"s release, asking if the show is set to become one with an annual release. Winderbaum gave an answer that is sure to please the fans who long for the bygone era of yearly TV releases.
The Head of Marvel Television stated: "That is the plan. Season 2 will come out next year, and then, hopefully, season 3 and season infinity after that." Not only does this confirm that season 2 is planned for 2026 but that a potential third season could then be set for 2027. This would give the production crew a solid break between production on Daredevil: Born Again seasons 2 and 3, should the production timeline remain consistent with the latter shooting just before the release of the former.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Cast There Are Only A Few Confirmed Cast Members For Daredevil: Born Again's Second Outing Close In terms of which actors will return for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, Marvel Studios has yet to release a list and outright confirm who will play a role. That said, several interviews and promotional materials in the run-up to Daredevil: Born Again season 1 gave some indications of who can be expected to continue their performances. Naturally, Charlie Cox and Vincent D"Onofrio will return as the two pillars of the show, Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, respectively.
Also confirmed to return are Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, which set photos confirm is the case, as well as Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake, with Gandolfini"s character being an integral part of Fisk"s mayoral team. Matthew Lillard was then also confirmed to join the cast as production on Daredevil: Born Again season 2 got underway in February 2025, leaving everyone else uncertain regarding their future. Other likely returns include Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, and possibly Camila Rodriguez as Angela Del Toro if she takes up the mantle of White Tiger at some point in season 1.
Depending on how the rest of Daredevil: Born Again season 1 pans out, people closely associated with Matt Murdock could also return. These would include Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Matt"s therapist girlfriend, Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie, who is his law partner, and his private investigator Cherry, played by Clark Johnson. Genneya Walton as BB Urich has played a bigger role than anticipated in season 1 and could return in future seasons as well.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Story Details Season 1 Left A Lot To Explore In Season 2 Regarding the story details of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, little has been explicitly confirmed yet. However, based on how Daredevil: Born Again season 1 went and the Marvel Comics stories that the show is adapting, a lot can be theorized about the continuation. Daredevil: Born Again has been confirmed to adapt the "Devil"s Reign" storyline since the beginning of production, with Scardapane confirming that season 2 pays off several elements and character arcs first introduced in season 1. With Fisk fully controlling the city now, things are even more dangerous for Daredevil.
Daredevil: Born Again season 1 ends with Fisk completely outlawing vigilantes, declaring martial law. Matt Murdock is also on the run as Daredevil. Things have changed drastically since the beginning of the series, and the stakes are higher than ever, with Karen Page coming back to help Matt and him needing to assemble "an army" to take down Fisk and his task force. Though no other heroes were shown during the end scene at Josie"s Bar, it"s likely Matt will call on some other vigilante friends to help out in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, especially with Frank currently preoccupied.
